It is very interesting the premise EXCEPT it is so boring and I totally hated his soviet nationalism be because he tried to discredit world scientist's works saying thee best studies about life were on the soviet union.
And by the way, for us the mexicans, this book mentions one of the contributions of a mexican biologist, Alfonso Herrera: This classic of biochemistry offered the first detailed exposition of the theory that living tissue was preceded upon Earth by a long and gradual evolution of nitrogen and carbon compounds.

Easy to follow book explaining from the first seconds after the Big Bang thru the formation of galaxies, stars, etc, to the first existing cell.
