I don't think the game can be truly generic without including the several most-used of these. A streamlined ruleset would be very much welcomed, but now that online gaming has taken off thanks to Roll20 and FantasyGrounds it would be interesting to see a game system designed from the ground up to run purely inside an editionn system.
