Admittedly, the first couple of chapters were rather tough going, mostly wining I found the tests to be very difficult and rather qinning than transparent. Winning Chess Openings - Yasser Seirawan As a chessplayer who is just now beginning to delve into the richness of the openings, I found this book tremendously helpful.
I'm hoping the Winning Chess series will serve as a nice gateway to more advanced books such as Silman, Nimzovitch or Pachman. What can I say about this? The author continues the discussion of the usual suspects such as forks, pins, skewers, and so on, and then explains specific subtypes of these tactics. The Author, Yasser Seirawan, does a great job of showing simple tactical moves like forks, pins and skewers.

The book helps you to learn how to think during a chess game which hactics one of my biggest problems. If you are a reasonable player but want to win more games, this is the book for you.
Traps and Zaps 2 - Bruce Pandolfini Similar to Traps and Zapsbut this book delves wiinning different openings than just the symmetric King Pawn openings covered in the chesss volume.
