I enjoyed the way it was told in short chapters which circled around three different points of view. He shows them that there is reason God limits our days. I am always in time, always counting time and paying attention to it. Why is time so important? A very plain writing, almost as if it were meant albo young readers, about a supposedly deep and philosophical subject that was addressed, in my timekesper, in a very shallow and predictable way. Just everyone, without exceptions.
Book Review: The Timekeeper by Mitch Albom – Ira Swasti – Medium
Dor, himself, wanted to stop time, and the lesson he must learn, from his next trial, is why what he did was wrong. In fact, the pace of the novel is a hearty heartbeat which seems to come alive as the story progresses. Dor wanted to stop time, Sarah wanted to slow time and Victor wanted to extend it. She is lonely rhe unloved.
Expecting a great storyline with a depth of meaning and philosophy I found myself becoming increasingly timekreper and depressed. Such a great cover, an author I really enjoy, and a story about Father Time - how could I not be excited! Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account.
Three very different, intertwined characters with different perspectives on Time. Dor's life is the main story, as his starts in the times of Babel and ends in present day. Solid book by Albom, with good life lessons to take away. Indeed, one could argue that Albom fashioned a rather predictable ending.
Although 6 thousand years have passed, he is unaffected by its passage and is able to return to face whatever fate awaits him. The story runs on parallel lines and shifts from one head to the other quite easily. How it never halted.
One who had nothing. In the end, I was left with some questions. We measure time, we schedule events of the future, and we contemplate on the time that has passed. Some claimed that they preferred it went by slower.
The Time Keeper
After reading an Albom book, I usually feel heavy hearted, sad but inspired. Timekeeer, I do too. For instance, were the characters symbols of ancient bible characters? Inadvertently, the object which man invented for his use, becomes the tool of his own destruction.
This is bad YA Christian fiction with insufferable characters.
Book World: ‘The Time Keeper,’ by Mitch Albom, is a waste of time itself
Then I mitcch a totally different style and was disappointed. Although simple and not overly emotionally complex; the mythical elements encourage depth and page turning.
Sep 19, Tony rated it it was amazing. Low acquaintance with subjects like philosophy, and no idea what-so-ever on the myths about time Yes, no idea about the Tower of Babel even, sorry are some predominant factor 3. He creates a fantasy about the problems created when we become preoccupied with schedules and the passage of time. Feb 02, Kimberley doruyter rated it did not like it. View all 3 comments.
